A Spot on Spotify?

TLDR; I'm trying to get into Spotify and I want to promote my friends' indie music as well as my own stuff. Let me know what you've got on there!

I've had Zulu Panda's music on Spotify for a few years but it's only recently that I've started using the service myself. Partly due to the low pay out to artists (it's terrible so thank you to everyone who has purchased my CDs directly and kept me from starving) and partly due to the plethora of music I have in other formats. I have a mountain of CDs (even after Marie-Kondo-style purging), a small stack of vinyl records, and 22038 songs (59 days or 113GB+ of music) on my computer.

That said, I see the appeal, the convenience of online streaming. I've realized my Spotify game was a little weak so I've updated my profile and want to get into creating playlists to promote my fellow indies. As Elle Wolf keeps saying, 'high tides raise all ships.' It is a sentiment that I hold true and part of the reason I enjoyed assisting Kristina Lao with Indie Van City so much. And so, I'm hoping you'll let me know if you've put your music on Spotify so I can promote it. I don't want to miss anyone - you're awesome! I also hope you'll stream some Zulu Panda so I can be hip with the kids.

It's hard to know what the future holds. Will streaming be the dominant system for decades to come - or will it be surpassed by something else? Is it feasible to be an independent artist in today's internet-infused world? What are your thoughts? Regardless, I want to convey my commitment to keep creating.

I'll admit I was pretty burnt out after touring last year. Additionally, I was upset to find out that four indie bands I respect and have shared the stage with have called it quits - and two other songwriters I know have passed on. But I think I've found my footing again and want to press on. I enjoy writing music and performing live and will continue to do so. I've just applied to a buttload festivals (yes, buttload) and I plan on recording and touring again soon. Looking forward to working with Flash Recording and others. It'll be a hoot.

Thank you for reading and supporting my endeavours. It's going to be a fun ride.

In Peace, Love & Death Metal, - Wes

PS. In case you haven't heard it, here's me on Spotify!
